About the Centre
Our aim is to promote Aboriginal and Islander peoples' participation in tertiary studies, to ensure the courses and services we offer are culturally appropriate, and to create new ways of learning and working for the benefit of all. We provide our students with the skills and abilities they need to work in the community, at the same time as promoting a positive sense of Aboriginal identity, culture and heritage.
Aboriginal communities throughout Western Australia work with us towards these goals, so at all times, and in many ways, we're well placed to be responsive to the needs of these communities.
Empowering Aboriginal people
Our commitment to education stems from a determination to empower Aboriginal people. This is why we made it our policy that most of our staff, academic, executive and general, should be Aboriginal or Islander people.
Our building on Curtin's campus reflects the relationship between Aboriginal people and the land. It is a meeting place, gathering together the hearts, minds and dreams of Aboriginal communities.
Our courses
We invite you to browse our courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The courses available include Bridging, Indigenous Community Management and Development, and Indigenous Community Health.
We are also actively engaged in educating non-Aboriginal people, offering electives to all university and community members.
